SOME FIGHTS NEVER END

Daxo James had already given enough to the military. Years of war left him scarred, disillusioned, and determined to spend whatever remained of his life with his wife and daughters. When the American Defense Force ordered him back into service, Daxo made a choice. It cost him everything.

Now he awakens from stasis aboard a ship orbiting a world many light-years from Earth. Within hours, he is dropped alone onto its surface with little more than his training and the will to survive. The planet is beautiful. Wild. Almost impossibly hospitable. And Daxo is not alone. Other exiles are scattered across the wilderness. Some become friends. Others have brought the cruelty and hunger for power of the old world with them. As Daxo and a small band of survivors struggle to build a life among unfamiliar creatures and the ruins of everything they once knew, they discover something far more troubling than the predators stalking the forests. Someone wanted them here.

Daxo spent years trying to escape the soldier he had been. But when the people around him are threatened, survival will require him to become something he swore he never would again: a leader.

And before the fight is over, Daxo will finally learn why he was sent across the stars.

Disloyalty has a price.
